Job summary

Schaeffler's Co-op Mechatronics Engineering – Fall 2027 is based in Troy, MI. The program offers hands-on engineering experience within Engine or Chassis groups, collaborating daily with the team on innovative projects and HiL test-related work.

We seek students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields, with a minimum 2.5 GPA, strong communication skills, and a drive to learn through rotational tasks and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• GPA 2.5 or higher per semester
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Self-motivated and results-driven
• Assertive problem-solver
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Sitting for extended periods and ability to lift 30 lb
• SAE competition participation preferred
• 3D CAD tooling experience preferred
• Mechanical hobbyist preferred

Responsibilities

• Support hardware architecture design and component sizing/selection for mechatronic systems
• Perform data analysis for system characterization and calibration
• Develop algorithms to enable system function per requirements
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to complete tasks
• Be responsible, independent, and open to instruction
• Engage in projects and hands-on training through developmental opportunities
