Job summary

Schaeffler invites ambitious students in Michigan to join its Cooperative Education Program for hands-on engineering experience. You’ll work on projects in Engine or Chassis with the engineering team, gaining exposure to cutting‑edge technology and Schaeffler’s manufacturing processes.

Requirements include pursuing a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related field, a 2.5 GPA, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher per semester.
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Extremely self-motivated & driven to achieve results.
• Ability to prioritize.
• The ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods, and lift and move thirty pounds.
• Exhibit a willingness to learn.
• Assertive approach to solving problems.
• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship skills with an ability to collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed.

Responsibilities

• EE integration of mechatronics systems and components (incl. sizing, e.g. e-motor), reviewing interface specifications, wiring schematics, creating wire harnesses and electrical triage [macroscopic] -> integration into HiL, Vehicle environments
• Circuit design and analysis/testing (e.g., analog filtering, sensorics), PCBA prototyping, wiring schematics [microscopic]
• Market research of EE products, benchmark, and documentation
• Interfacing teams – effectively communicate with these cross functional teams in order to effectively complete assigned tasks
• Participants should be responsible, able to work independently, and open to instruction
• S/he will be given developmental opportunities through tasks such as projects, job-rotation, hands-on training, and exposure to Schaeffler's manufacturing and technological processes
