Job summary

Hennepin Technical College in Minnesota seeks two Automation Systems and Mechatronics Technology Instructors to deliver hands-on coursework and manage lab activities across Eden Prairie and Brooklyn Park campuses.

Responsibilities include curriculum development, assessment of learner outcomes, and supporting students through various instructional methods. Requires associate degree and four years of related experience; travel between campuses is expected.

Qualifications

Associate degree in an automated systems and mechatronics, electrical/mechanic systems or fluid power program.
Four full-time years of verified related paid work experience in automated systems and mechatronics, electrical/mechanic, or fluid power.
One year of this work experience within the last five years, or two years of postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field.
Course construction, teaching methods, and student outcomes assessment experience may be required.
Preferred qualification: 2-year degree in Automation Robotics Engineering, Packaging, Electronics, or Industrial Electricity; familiarity with PLCs/HMIS and industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

Primary teaching responsibilities including lab instruction and technical skills.
Curriculum development and assessment of learner outcomes.
Integration of assessment activities into teaching practices and college-wide assessment.
Support student success via diverse instructional methods and office hours.
Delivery across Eden Prairie and Brooklyn Park campuses, including day/evening/weekend sessions.
