Job summary

Festo USA is seeking an experienced Application Engineer (MAE) to support pre‑sales activities, provide in-depth mechatronics expertise, and guide customers from project inception to operation. The role requires strong PLC knowledge, exceptional communication, and the ability to collaborate across sales, engineering, and product teams.

Responsibilities include onsite prototype support, training for MAE/BD teams, and close coordination with Technical Support to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Mechatronics or related field.
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation and controls.
• Experience in pre-sales technical support and customer-facing communication.
• Familiarity with IEC61131-3 languages and modern PLC platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical interface between customers and internal teams during pre-sales activities.
• Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to MAE and Business Development teams.
• Onsite support for prototype startups and concept validation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with controls engineers and customers.
• Collaborate with Technical Support to resolve customer tickets.
• Identify and secure projects through exceptional application and automation expertise.
• Ensure compliance with relevant norms and regulations.
• Travel for training, customer visits, and events.
