Job summary

Semtech is seeking an experienced engineer to develop force sensing and haptics modules. You will work with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to bring products like laptops, phones, and automotive interfaces to mass production.

The role involves mechanical design, prototyping, DFM, testing, and analysis, with opportunities for advanced simulations and long-term training at Semtech.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience designing real world products.
• Knowledge of multiple fabrication methods (CNC, injection molding, 3D printing, sheet metal).
• Excellent 3D CAD modeling skills.
• Understanding of materials, structural mechanics, sensors and actuators.
• Experience with DFM and reliability testing.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute electro-mechanical designs from concept to fabrication backed by engineering analysis.
• Assist in fabrication, assembly, and testing from PoC to mass production.
• Collaborate with business and engineering to translate customer input into products.
• Travel to manufacturing partners to assist production ramp-up.
• Travel to customer sites to provide technical support.
• Perform FEA and EM simulations to optimize performance and HMI.
