Job description

We are seeking a Mechanisms Manufacturing Engineer to support the development, assembly, integration, and testing of advanced space-flight mechanisms. This role will focus on deployment hardware for orbital platforms and will contribute to both new product development and sustaining engineering activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving manufacturability, supporting production, and preparing hardware for spacecraft integration and test.

This position is ideal for an engineer who combines strong mechanical understanding with practical manufacturing and test experience, and who is comfortable working across design, production, and integration teams.

Responsibilities
  • Support iterative mechanism design improvements based on findings from testing, assembly, and production
  • Perform and lead testing activities, including defining requirements, developing tooling, materials, and processes for vibration, shock, thermal vacuum, and assembly operations
  • Contribute to design, analysis, and trade studies to improve mechanism assembly, integration, and test at both hardware and spacecraft level
  • Provide feedback to design teams to improve manufacturability, assembly flow, production efficiency, and overall cost-effectiveness
  • Generate product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising test and manufacturing data
  • Apply sound engineering judgement to support design release, production readiness, and hardware acceptance
  • Troubleshoot anomalies during assembly and test, perform root-cause investigations, and support corrective actions
  • Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support to technicians and production teams
  • Help improve layouts, tooling, workflows, and fabrication methods to support efficient build and integration activities
Qualifications
  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering within aerospace or another high-precision engineering environment preferred
  • Knowledge of mechanism development, production, and testing for high-reliability hardware
  • Experience supporting assembly, integration, and production operations
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues and drive practical solutions
  • Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
  • Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced engineering and production environment
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Must hold valid work authorization, including citizenship or permanent residency
