Diamond Peak Recruiting seeks a VDC/BIM Department Manager to lead the virtual design and construction function for a leading mechanical construction organization. This role targets a VDC/BIM leader from a mechanical subcontractor or engineering firm who can blend technical depth with strong departmental leadership.

You will oversee BIM/VDC strategy, standards, processes, technology, and team development across complex projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of VDC/BIM experience within mechanical construction, MEP, or engineering.
• 3+ years managing or leading a VDC/BIM team.
• Strong proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination platforms.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fabrication, detailing, and constructability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the VDC/BIM department and team.
• Establish workflows, standards, and best practices across the VDC function.
• Coordinate with PMs, estimators, field operations, GCs, engineers, and owners to drive alignment.
• Ensure accurate, constructible models and deliverables for complex projects.

Mechanical Construction VDC/BIM Department Manager

We are seeking a VDC/BIM Department Manager to lead and grow the virtual design and construction function for a leading mechanical construction organization. This role is ideal for a VDC/BIM leader coming from a mechanical subcontractor or engineering firm who can combine technical expertise with strong departmental leadership.

The VDC/BIM Manager will oversee BIM/VDC strategy, standards, processes, technology, and team development across complex mechanical construction projects. Responsibilities include managing the VDC team, establishing workflows and best practices, coordinating with project management, estimating, preconstruction, field operations, GCs, engineers, and owners, and ensuring accurate, constructible models and deliverables.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of VDC/BIM experience within mechanical construction, MEP, or engineering
• 3+ years managing or leading a VDC/BIM team
• Strong proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination platforms
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fabrication, detailing, and constructability
• Experience with clash detection, coordination, model development, and BIM standards
• Ability to develop and implement department-wide workflows, standards, and best practices
• Proven ability to lead teams, mentor staff, and drive technology adoption
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with PMs, estimators, field teams, GCs, engineers, and owners
• Mechanical contracting or engineering background strongly preferred
