BIM/VDC Manager - Electrical Construction

The Opportunity

We are partnering with an established electrical contractor looking to add a VDC Manager to its project delivery team. This individual will take ownership of the virtual construction process, helping project teams translate design information into coordinated, buildable solutions.

The position will work closely with operations, estimating, engineering, fabrication, field personnel, and external project stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and technical level, with a strong understanding of how BIM/VDC can improve the way complex electrical projects are planned and constructed.

What You’ll Own

• Establish and maintain BIM/VDC execution plans for assigned projects.
• Direct the development of electrical models from design through construction and fabrication.
• Manage multidisciplinary coordination and drive the resolution of model-based conflicts before they reach the field.
• Work alongside project managers, estimators, engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review design information for constructability, sequencing, installation requirements, and potential coordination issues.
• Support estimating and preconstruction teams with model-based quantities, early design reviews, and conceptual layouts.
• Oversee VDC deliverables and coordinate the work of internal team members, consultants, and external modelling partners.
• Develop model information that can be translated into fabrication, prefabrication, and field installation deliverables.
• Lead BIM coordination sessions and ensure outstanding issues are tracked through resolution.
• Help establish consistent modelling standards, workflows, QA/QC procedures, and project documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity through automation, technology, prefabrication, and better digital workflows.
• Provide VDC support to field teams during installation and assist with resolving issues that arise during construction.
• Stay current with BIM/VDC technology, electrical construction practices, and evolving industry standards.
• Travel to project locations when required.

What You Bring

The successful candidate will combine electrical construction knowledge with strong BIM/VDC capability and be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical project stakeholders.

• Demonstrated experience in VDC, BIM, virtual construction, or digital project delivery within electrical construction.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation methods and construction sequencing.
• Experience working with Revit and other BIM/VDC platforms.
• Understanding of model federation, trade coordination, clash resolution, and constructability analysis.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, models, and construction documents.
• Experience supporting projects from preconstruction through field execution.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple projects.
• Confidence leading coordination meetings and working with clients, GCs, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• A proactive approach to identifying problems and developing practical solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard construction technology.
• A genuine interest in improving the way construction teams use technology and digital information.
