Job summary

NSL Analytical Services, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Testing Technician to perform tensile and mechanical testing that supports material performance evaluation for customers in aerospace, nuclear, automotive, medical, and other highly regulated industries.

This hands-on, lab-based role involves preparing samples, operating tensile testing equipment, collecting data, and ensuring results are accurate and delivered with exceptional quality.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience working full-time in a metallic materials testing laboratory performing metallurgical preparation, testing and analysis.
• Prior tensile testing experience preferred
• Associates Degree in a technical field, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Commercial testing laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sample preparation and conditioning of material samples according to test plans and standards.
• Operate tensile testing equipment and collect data.
• Record data accurately and use software to calculate properties like yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation.
• Compile test results into LIMS system and ensure timely reporting.
• Maintain chemical hygiene and safety across all areas of the facility.
• Contribute to continuous process improvements and maintain quality assurance.
