Job summary

Kalmar Solutions LLC in Ottawa is seeking a detail-oriented Test & Validation Engineer, Mechanics to oversee, track, and perform engineering test and validation tasks for NPD, AE, PC, and CE projects related to Kalmar Terminal Tractors globally. You will ensure that truck mechanical components meet customer demands, safety, and durability standards while collaborating with R&D, suppliers, and field teams.

2–5 years experience preferred; Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering; travel domestically

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and fluent English.
• 2–5 years of mechanical design/testing experience in automotive or heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Test Planning & Verification: Create test plans with R&D for thorough verification of mechanical designs prior to launch.
• System Testing & Execution: Coordinate testing of truck mechanical systems (structural, pneumatic, hydraulic, powertrain).
• Quality & Gate Reviews: Participate in gate reviews to ensure product quality before gate passage.
• Prototyping & Equipment Support: Train prototype technicians on test setup and data acquisition.
• Reporting & Fixture Design: Prepare test reports, design fixtures, and recommend testing equipment.
• Supplier & Installation Audits: Coordinate audits with engineers and suppliers to ensure proper installation.
