Job summary

Element Materials Technology is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our expanding team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This role offers hands-on testing work, opportunities to operate complex mechanical equipment, and involvement in data capture and report writing.

You will contribute to ensuring quality and accuracy in a busy mechanical test laboratory, with emphasis on attention to detail, teamwork, and effective communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Educated to a good general standard including English and Maths
• Degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant materials related discipline
• Hands-on job
• Sound mechanical bias
• Previous experience in an appropriate Engineering environment is a distinct advantage
• Experience of working within a Mechanical testing environment is advantageous
• An understanding of a recognised Quality Management System such as ISO 17025 is beneficial
• Self motivated Technician with the ability to multi task, organise and work under the pressure of a busy commercial mechanical test laboratory
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A team player attitude
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Responsibilities

• Interpretation of internal and client requirements
• Supervising allocated staff and being responsible for the day to day management of the relevant discipline
• Operating complex mechanical testing equipment
• Maintaining accurate and systematic records
• Performing other duties to fulfil the demands of the laboratory
• Performing general duties in accordance with Element's internal procedures, quality as well as Health and Safety system
• Application of instrumentation and the setting up of complex data capture equipment
• Report writing, data interpretation and analysis
