Job summary

E-Space, a space tech company, is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Test Engineer to own ground testing of large deployable antenna structures. You will design and operate rigs, measure deployment data, and investigate anomalies to ensure reliability and geometry targets are met.

On-site in Arlington, TX, with some travel. The role demands practical test experience with deployable hardware and an understanding that gravity-ground tests differ from flight deployment.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the antenna assembly’s mechanical deployment test program from requirements through fixture development and reporting.
• Design, build, and improve gravity-offload and support fixtures for large flexible structures.
• Set up and run physical deployment tests; measure force, torque, trajectories and deployed shape.
• Investigate unexpected motion and outliers with measurements and follow-up tests.
• Establish deployment repeatability against requirements and understand test plan sensitivities.
• Coordinate testing with deployment mechanism team and engineers.
