Job summary

ManpowerGroup in San Jose is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to validate mechanical components and materials through hands-on lab work and detailed report writing. This 100% onsite role requires Creo proficiency for 3D modeling and drawing creation, plus hands-on prototype assembly and test setup.

The position emphasizes reliable test execution, precise documentation, and clear communication with the engineering team. The engagement runs from 11/2/2026 to 11/1/2027 for a full-year term.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong 3D modeling and 2D drawing experience with Creo preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of reliability lab measurement equipment (EMC scan, ESD gun, shaking table, environment chamber, acoustic equipment).
• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and PCB board placement (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and develop 2D drawings for mechanical designs using Creo.
• Assemble switch prototypes in the lab and support hands-on mechanical build activities.
• Help the team set up bench and chamber-based test environments to prepare for mechanical performance validation.
• Verify performance of mechanical components and materials using reliability lab measurement equipment.
• Deliver clear, accurate test reports to the team based on lab results.

Rate - $44/hr

What's the Job?

• Create 3D modeling and develop 2D drawings for mechanical designs using mechanical design tools (preferably CreO).

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong 3D modeling and 2D drawing experience on mechanical design tools, with preference for CreO.
• Fundamental understanding of reliability lab measurement equipment, including EMC scan, ESD gun, shaking table, environment chamber, and acoustic equipment.
• Relevant industry, internship, project, or equivalent hands-on academic experience (preferred).
• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and experience/working knowledge of PCB board placement (preferred).
