Job summary

Entegris, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Technician I for the 1st shift in San Luis Obispo, CA to build ultra high purity systems and subassemblies per engineering specs. The role involves assembling mechanical and electrical components, routing cables, and following safety and work instructions.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of mechanical assembly experience, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years’ experience mechanical assembly and/or relevant experience.
• Ability to learn to navigate through BOMs, drawings and instructions.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs daily.
• Ability to climb ladders and be on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Focus on attention to detail to drive plant safety and product quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
• Ability to learn how to handle material responsibly.
• Dependability and flexibility to work overtime and weekends to support business needs.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand standard and non-standard options per the CDS requirements.
• Work from instructions, drawings, schematics, piping and instrumentation drawings, illustrations and process documentation to assemble a variety of mechanical, electrical subassemblies and systems with supervision.
• Follow verbal instructions.
• Build sub-assemblies with supervision.
• Learn Cabinet Preparation by installing bracketing, piping insulation, and sub-assemblies with supervision.
• Learn engineering specifications to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner.
• Perform routine, repetitive assembly operations and processes to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner.
• Complete 6S responsibilities (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) Maintain a safe and clean work environment and maintain or increase On-Time Shipments.
• Work safely and recognize the safety of others.
• Provide accuracy and consistency in work performance.
• Learn proper measuring techniques, tool use, care, and quality standards.
• Work with a team as well as independently when needed.
• Any other duties as assigned.
