Job summary

Entegris is seeking a Mechanical Technician I for the 2nd shift in San Luis Obispo, CA to assemble mechanical and sub-systems for Ultra High Purity solutions. You will read drawings, build sub-assemblies, route cables, and support with process documentation under supervision.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 1+ years’ mechanical assembly experience, and are able to lift up to 50 lbs, work overtime, and maintain a safe workspace while contributing to on-time shipments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years experience mechanical assembly and/or relevant experience.
• Ability to learn to navigate through operating system to find BOMs, drawings and instructions.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs daily.
• Ability to climb ladders and be on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Focus on attention to detail to drive plant safety and product quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
• Ability to learn how to handle material responsibly.
• Dependability and flexibility to work overtime and weekends to support business needs.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand standard and non-standard options per the Customer Data Sheets (CDS) requirements.
• Work from instructions, drawings, schematics, piping and instrumentation drawings, illustrations and process documentation to assemble a variety of mechanical, electrical subassemblies and systems with supervision.
• Follow verbal instructions.
• Build sub-assemblies with supervision.
• Learn Cabinet Preparation by installing bracketing, piping insulation, and sub-assemblies with supervision.
• Learn engineering specifications to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner.
• Perform routine, repetitive assembly operations and processes to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner.
• Complete 6S responsibilities (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety)
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and maintain or increase On-Time Shipments.
• Work safely and recognize the safety of others.
• Provide accuracy and consistency in work performance.
• Learn proper measuring techniques, tool use, care, and quality standards.
• Work with a team as well as independently when needed.
• Any other duties as assigned.
