Job summary

Micro Precision in Lenexa, Kansas seeks a Calibration Technician to calibrate a variety of test instruments across electrical, industrial and temperature equipment. You will collect data, complete certifications, and maintain company standards while sharing knowledge with the team.

Travel up to 25% to client sites is expected. We value safety, quality, and clear communication with customers and coworkers, by phone, in person or email.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and dimensional equipment preferred.
• Experience in basic instrumentation and manual tools preferred.
• Basic mathematics understanding.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently or under supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate a variety of test instruments across skill areas such as electrical, industrial and temperature equipment.
• Collect calibration data and complete calibration certifications, including out of tolerance conditions.
• Perform standards maintenance and checks of company standards as assigned by Lab Manager.
• Share knowledge and best practices with other team members.
• Observe safety precautions and quality standards in task performance and compliance.
• Clearly communicate calibration issues and procedures with customers and coworkers by phone, in person and via email.

About this position

Description:

Responsible for calibrating a variety of test instruments for one or more skill areas, such as:

• Electrical Equipment
• Industrial Equipment
• Temperature Equipment

• Perform standards maintenance & checking of company standards if assigned by Lab Manager
• Collect calibration data and record information on data sheets. Complete calibration certifications, including out of tolerance conditions.
• Continue to be trained in all aspects of Micro Precision Calibration Services and share gained knowledge and other best practices with other team members
• Observe safety precautions and quality standards in the performance of tasks and compliy with the company
• Clearly communicate calibration issues and procedures with customers and coworkers on the phone, in person and through email

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• Basic Knowledge of Mechanical and Dimensional equipment preferred
• Experience in basic instrumentation and manual tools preferred
• Basic mathematics understanding
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in MS Word and Excel
• Ability to work both independently and under the supervision of Senior Technicians
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance

Training

We accept applicants new to the calibration industry who are eager to learn

Work Environment

Work performed in local laboratory and at customer facilities

Up to 25% out of town, overnight travel
