Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associates degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of Mechanical Technician experience in industrial/petrochemical settings.
• Proficient in reading/interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
• Strong industrial safety knowledge (LOTO, confined space, hot work).
• Experience with rotating equipment maintenance (pumps, compressors).
• Knowledge of precision alignment techniques and tools.
• Independent troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems.

• Execute preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment (compressors, pumps, turbines, valves, piping, rotating machinery).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures using blueprints and manuals.
• Perform precise adjustments, alignments, and overhauls.
• Inspect, lubricate, and replace worn parts.
• Use torque wrenches and alignment tools for maintenance tasks.
• Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Document activities in CMMS.
• Collaborate with operations/engineering on reliability improvements.
• Participate in pre-startup safety reviews and risk assessments.
• Assist in commissioning/decommissioning of mechanical systems.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime.

• Execute preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment, including compressors, pumps, turbines, valves, piping, and rotating machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures and system malfunctions using blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Perform precise mechanical adjustments, alignments, and overhauls.
• Inspect, lubricate, and replace worn or defective parts.
• Utilize specialized tools and equipment for mechanical tasks, such as torque wrenches, alignment tools, and diagnostic instruments.
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and environmental regulations.
• Document all maintenance activities accurately in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to identify and implement reliability improvements.
• Participate in pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs) and risk assessments.
• Assist with commissioning and decommissioning of mechanical systems.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely repairs to minimize downtime.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's degree in Mechanical Technology or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician in an industrial or petrochemical environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety practices, including LOTO, confined space entry, and hot work permits.
• Demonstrated experience with rotating equipment maintenance (e.g., centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, compressors).
• Knowledge of precision alignment techniques and tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems independently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work at heights, and in various weather conditions.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
