Job summary

Air Liquide Large Industries in Geismar, LA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment across four on-site ASUs and a cogeneration unit, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

You will diagnose issues using blueprints and manuals, document activities in CMMS, and collaborate with operations to drive reliability improvements while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree in Mechanical Technology or related field preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician in industrial/petrochemical environments.
• Ability to read technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety practices including LOTO and hot work permits.
• Experience with rotating equipment maintenance such as pumps and compressors.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment including compressors, pumps, turbines, valves, piping and rotating machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures using blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Perform precise adjustments, alignments, and overhauls.
• Inspect, lubricate, and replace worn or defective parts.
• Utilize torque wrenches, alignment tools, and diagnostic instruments for tasks.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations; document activities in CMMS.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering to improve reliability.
• Participate in pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs) and risk assessments.
• Assist with commissioning and decommissioning of mechanical systems.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely repairs.

Job Responsibilities

• Document all maintenance activities accurately in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to identify and implement reliability improvements.
• Participate in pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs) and risk assessments.
• Assist with commissioning and decommissioning of mechanical systems.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely repairs to minimize downtime.
