Job summary

Air Liquide Pasadena, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure safe, reliable operation of plant equipment through preventative and corrective maintenance. You will work on pumps, compressors, valves, motors, control systems, and cryogenic units while following safety policies and LOTO procedures.

The role involves troubleshooting, documenting work in CMMS, and collaborating with engineers to improve equipment reliability.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; further training preferred.
  • Experience with industrial maintenance in manufacturing or similar setting.
  • Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Knowledge of CMMS and blueprints/schematics.
  • Familiarity with CMRT or similar maintenance certifications is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Execute preventive maintenance schedules and calibrations to improve reliability.
  • Troubleshoot equipment faults and implement effective repairs.
  • Document work orders and spare parts in CMMS and manage inventory.
  • Adhere to safety policies, LOTOs, confined space rules, and hot work permits.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and support emergency breakdowns as needed.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering to improve plant reliability.
  • Read technical docs, blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs.

We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.

Join our dynamic team at Air Liquide as a Maintenance Technician! You are responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment through preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity and performance of our large-scale industrial gas production facilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex maintenance tasks on a variety of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, motors, control systems, and cryogenic units.
  • Execute preventative maintenance (PM) schedules, inspections, and calibrations to support reliability and enhance equipment performance.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, uncover root causes, and contribute to effective repair solutions.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track equipment history, and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Committed to all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hot work permits.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and support the team during emergency breakdowns outside of regular working hours as required.
  • Collaborate with operations personnel and engineers to foster plant processes and improve equipment reliability.
  • Read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
  • Conduct equipment inspections, foster a safe environment by identifying potential hazards, and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper care of tools and equipment ____________________
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED is essential.
  • Associate degrees in industrial maintenance or vocational school certificates in HVAC, welding, or machining are preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience (1–3 years) in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and installing mechanical equipment.
  • System Knowledge: Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Tool Proficiency: Ability to use hand and power tools, such as grinders and welding equipment.
  • Technical Reading: Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Technical Proficiencies: Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is often required.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform heavy lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
  • Common Certifications: Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT).
  • Relevant trade school certification or apprenticeship.
