Job summary

Nucor Ghent, KY is seeking an experienced mechanical maintenance technician to keep production equipment running safely and efficiently. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, reading mechanical prints, and collaborating with industrial mechanics and welders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production equipment across the facility.
• Troubleshoot systems, processes, and equipment.
• Read, work with, and modify mechanical prints.
• Work with mechanics and welding on gear boxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Adhere to safe mechanical and rigging practices.
• Use CMMS to complete work orders, order parts, and schedule maintenance.
• Rotate shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Overtime as scheduled or unscheduled.

Basic Job Functions:

Mechanical maintenance positions will be responsible for assuring that all production equipment is maintained. Responsibilities include but are not limited to troubleshooting systems, processes and/or equipment; reading, working with, and modifying mechanical prints; w orking with industrial mechanics and/or welding including: gear boxes, alignments, hydraulic and pneumatic logic, pump repair and process knowledge; a dhering to safe mechanical and rigging processes; and using computerized maintenance management program/system to complete work orders, find and order parts, and to schedule maintenance work for their shift. This position will work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, holidays, and scheduled/unscheduled overtime.
