Job summary

Boise Mobile Equipment, Inc. is seeking experienced Mechanical Technicians for on-site work in Boise, Idaho. You will work on fire apparatus chassis, assist with installing pumps, lighting, and controls, and perform diagnostic maintenance to ensure reliable frontline equipment.

The role requires automotive or diesel mechanical background, ability to read a tape measure, and physical stamina to lift up to 100 pounds. A drug test and background check are required.

Qualifications

Job Description

BME Fire Trucks is looking for experienced Mechanical Technicians. The chassis is the foundation of the fire apparatus and is the power that drives the truck as well as the water pump and controls the lights and sirens. As a Mechanical Technician you may be responsible for:

• Putting on bumpers
• Putting on rear steps
• Attaching the water pump

Requirements

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

• Background in automotive or diesel mechanics.
• Basic math skills with ability to read tape measure
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds (rarely required but could be possible)
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly as well as climb stairs/ladders
• Ability to pass a drug test and a criminal background check.
• High school or adult mechanic’s course
• Mechapprenticeship
• Excellent diagnostic skills
• Ability to use plasma torch
• Experience with hand and power tools
• Experience with DOT airline fittings, PTO gear boxes, drivelines
• Hands on experience with impacts, drills, plasma torches, magnetic drills
