Matheny Motor Truck Company is seeking a skilled Emergency Vehicle Technician to join our Fire and Emergency Team in Hagerstown, MD. The role focuses on electrical assembly, wiring harnesses, and system diagnostics for fire trucks.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of automotive electrical experience, and CDL with a clean record. EVT/ASE certification or willingness to obtain is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred 1–2 years of automotive electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• EVT / ASE certification (or is willing to obtain certifications).
• Strong technical performance record.
• Unrestricted CDL driver's license and clean driving record.
• Own and can use common hand tools and power tools such as drills, and screw guns.
• Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble Under dash harnesses, switch panels, circuit boards, and a variety of electrical components.
• Programming the lights from customers specs.
• Troubleshoot 12V DC and 110V AC circuitry.
• Test products to ensure performance to customers specifications.
• Reading specs to make sure the trucks are built per spec.
• Perform functionality checks on airhorns, sirens, light packages, flash patterns, door locks Etc.
• Identify and fix quality issues.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts with written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.
• Communicate issues or delays immediately to management.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Matheny Motor Truck Company is seeking skilled and experienced Emergency Vehicle Technician to join our Fire and Emergency Team. The successful candidate will be very detailed oriented, a true technician skilled electrician and mechanic. This person needs to be versed in fire pumps, valves, preferably foam systems and both 12 VDC and 120/240 VAC generators.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and climbing up and down ladders and scaffolding
