Job summary

Union Technologies, based in Dallas, Texas, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to drive improvements in defense production lines. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing reliability and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical experience, understands pneumatics and hydraulics, and is proficient in using CAD tools like SolidWorks. This position may require some travel, including international trips during the initial equipment builds.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years mechanical assembly/maintenance/prototyping for Tech I.
• 3-5+ years for setups, alignments, PMs, and quality checks for Tech II.
• 6+ years of cross-trade troubleshooting for Tech III.

Responsibilities

• Run and support Kaizen events to improve production metrics.
• Identify and remove bottlenecks with engineers.
• Design fixtures and production aids as needed.
• Diagnose product and equipment issues using internal tools.
• Draft and update Manufacturing Instructions and assist with training.
• Analyze production data and propose solutions.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) mechanically.
• Perform precision metrology and preventive maintenance.

Skills

Hands-on experience with hand and power tools and mechanical assembly

Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics

Ability to read prints, GD&T, and schematics

Proficiency with Microsoft Office
