Job summary

R.J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC is seeking a full-time Railcar Maintenance Technician in Jesup, GA to perform locomotive and rail car maintenance, welding, and mechanical repairs. The role involves oiling, lubricating hinges, replacing motor brushes, and using hydraulic/power tools.

You will work to keep equipment safe and reliable, follow safety procedures, and support crane operations. Welding/Rail car repair experience is preferred; benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Experienced in welding preferred.
• Experience in rail car repair preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform locomotive maintenance including oil, sand and water to engine, lubrication of hinges, replacement of worn DC motor brushes, filter changes and grease application.
• Replace worn DC electric motor brushes within locomotives.
• Rail car repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Service crane operation.
• Welding and oxygen/acetylene torching.
• Maintenance of assigned vehicle.
• General repairs of other equipment as necessary.
• Trouble shoots and repairs equipment as needed.
• Maintain safe and clean work area.
• Observance of operating and safety procedures.
