Job summary

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (required at Level 2/3).
• Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is acceptable at higher level.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to pursue research opportunities with technology integration.
• Develop and implement the selected alternative throughout the project lifecycle, including testing.
• Develop graded systems approaches to meet program and customer needs and build tools for systems tasks.
• Identify the full range of viable systems and decision‑making alternatives.
• Develop systems models and decision‑making tools to help customers decide.
• Validate analyses and prepare briefing materials and responses for information requests.
• Ensure activities comply with DOE orders, regulations, and BEA policies.
• Mentor junior staff.
