Job summary

A North American infrastructure leader is seeking a construction supervisor to manage nuclear projects in Virginia. The role requires a technical college diploma with at least 5 years of experience in construction and subcontractor supervision, particularly in the nuclear sector. Responsibilities include ensuring safety compliance, monitoring project schedules, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. This position also requires U.S. citizenship due to security clearance for accessing nuclear facilities.

Citizen Requirement

This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. Applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.

What You’ll Do Here
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and public stakeholders.
  • Ensure all work is conducted safely, in compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Assist in developing, monitoring, and updating the project schedule.
  • Ensure subcontractors comply with the project master schedule.
  • Utilize the project master schedule to create detailed look‑ahead schedules with subcontractors.
  • Assist in developing recovery strategies when the project schedule or budget is jeopardized.
  • Plan, supervise, and approve the work of own forces and subcontractors, determining construction methods, manpower levels, materials, tools, rentals, and schedules.
  • Assume responsibility for the productivity of trades and subcontractors, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
  • Ensure trades personnel complete all necessary safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation, and owner‑specified training.
  • Ensure the project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, Field Work Packages, Inspection & Test Plans, and the project schedule and budget.
  • Interface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, and other contractors.
  • Ensure the work follows QA programs and project quality guidelines.
  • Maintain appropriate field documentation, including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E, rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests, and FWP documents.
  • Participate in basic layout, preparation of work instructions, and field engineering activities.
  • Maintain lines and levels – verify as‑built conditions.
What You Bring To The Team
  • Education: technical college diploma or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of construction and subcontractor supervision experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Prior HVAC and duct installation/supervision experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to successfully supervise a construction project.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and understand CGC Cost Reports.
  • Basic presentation skills.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Reporting to work on time and fit for duty (FFD).
  • Climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and access lifts as required to supervise craft labor.
