Job summary

Aecon U.S. is seeking an Electrical Supervisor to lead field execution on our nuclear construction projects in the United States. You will oversee pre‑execution planning, direct‑hire and subcontracted labor, and ensure quality and schedule adherence in a high‑hazards environment.

This role requires a journeyman electrical background, 5+ years in nuclear construction and subcontractor supervision, strong organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to nuclear safety culture. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of nuclear construction and subcontractor supervision experience.
  • Journeyman electrical experience and Industrial electrical experience required.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and customer relationship skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of self-perform trades work, estimating and employee relations.
  • Knowledge of union agreements applicable to the work.
  • Must understand how to support a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.
  • Must have a full appreciation of Quality Assurance Programs in nuclear industry.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop a construction team of experienced supervisory personnel.
  • Develop and maintain a hiring plan and manage labor relations issues.
  • Oversee all site execution matters and timely performance of the work.
  • Ensure site safety and human performance, and collaborate with Safety Manager.
  • Maintain positive relationship with client construction counterpart.
  • Create detailed look‑ahead schedules from the master project schedule.
  • Monitor risks and develop recovery strategies for schedule/budget issues.
  • Oversee productivity of direct hire trades and subcontractors; manage materials usage and equipment.
  • Apply company discipline policies and escalate performance concerns.
  • Ensure training for safety, quality, qualifications, and owner requirements.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding including payroll communication.
  • Ensure construction aligns with drawings, specs and field work.
  • Ensure nuclear safety culture is reinforced.

Our nuclear sector plays an important role in extending the life of existing nuclear stations and executing the next generation of nuclear new builds leveraging a similar fleet execution strategy. From our work delivering the two largest refurbishment projects (Savannah River nuclear station and North Anna Power Station) in North America to deploying the first grid‑scale SMR in the western world. The Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for the overall field execution. This position will be accountable for all pre‑execution planning activities to ensure all necessary construction packages have been readied and available for use. The Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for all site execution matters, including direct‑hire and subcontracted labor supervision, safe and timely performance of the work, and ensuring quality standards are upheld.

Citizenship Requirement

This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.

What You'll Do Here
  • Prepare and develop a construction team of experienced and capable supervisory personnel, including succession planning for key individuals.
  • Develop and maintain a hiring plan and ensure labor relations issues are pro‑actively managed
  • Responsible for all site execution matters, including the timely performance of the work
  • Accountable for all site safety and human performance issues, and for collaborating with the project Safety Manager
  • Maintain a positive relationship with client construction counterpart
  • Utilize project master schedule to create detailed look‑ahead schedules for Superintendents.
  • Monitor and manage risks, develop recovery strategies when project schedule or budget is in jeopardy.
  • Assume responsibility for productivity of direct hire trade labor and subcontractors, efficient use of materials and tools & equipment and contractual performance of the project
  • Application of home company discipline policies and appropriate escalation of performance concerns.
  • Ensure trades personnel complete all necessary training in areas of safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation and owner specified requirements.
  • Managing employee Onboarding and Offboarding including communication with payroll and training coordinators.
  • Ensure project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, Field Work
  • Ensure a strong nuclear safety culture is reinforced continuously
  • Other duties as required or assigned
What You Bring To The Team
  • Minimum of 5 years of nuclear construction and subcontractor supervision experience
  • Journeyman electrical experience and Industrial electrical experience required
  • Must have the ability to handle all matters in a confidential and professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and customer relationship skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of self‑perform trades work, estimating and employee relations required.
  • Requires proficient trades union relations management skills, and a solid understanding of union agreements applicable to the work
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements
  • Must understand how to support a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.
  • Must have a full appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry
