Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing is seeking a talented field supervisor to lead day-to-day mechanical construction activities on a data center project in Houston. You will translate project plans, drawings, specifications and schedules into effective field execution while coordinating manpower, materials, equipment, sequencing, safety, quality and communication.

Qualifications

• Experience leading field teams on commercial mechanical construction.
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of carbon steel piping systems for chilled-water and heating-water applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day mechanical construction activities and field execution for assigned projects.
• Plan and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, tools, and work sequencing to support project schedules and field productivity.
• Direct and coordinate installation activities involving carbon steel mechanical piping systems, particularly for chilled-water and heating-water.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation to understand scope and plan upcoming work.
• Coordinate piping and other mechanical installations with project management, other trades, and project stakeholders.
• Monitor field productivity, installation progress, workmanship, and schedule performance.
• Identify constructability concerns, field conflicts, material constraints, and potential schedule impacts and communicate them to project leadership.
• Reinforce jobsite safety expectations and promote safe work practices throughout field operations.
• Monitor mechanical installation quality and conformance with project drawings and specifications.
• Support system testing, punch-list completion, turnover, and project closeout activities.

Job description

You will lead day-day mechanical construction activities and coordinate field execution for assigned data center projects. The role translates project plans, drawings, specifications, and schedules into effective field execution while coordinating manpower, materials, equipment, sequencing, safety, quality and communication.

A critical requirement for this position is demonstrated experience with carbon steel piping systems associated with chilled-water and heating-water applications. These systems represent a significant portion of the mechanical piping work for this role.

What You Will Do:

• Lead day-to-day mechanical construction activities and field execution for assigned projects.
• Plan and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, tools, and work sequencing to support project schedules and field productivity.
• Direct and coordinate installation activities involving carbon steel mechanical piping systems, particularly piping serving chilled-water and heating-water applications.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation to understand scope and plan upcoming work.
• Coordinate piping and other mechanical installations with project management, other trades, and project stakeholders.
• Monitor field productivity, installation progress, workmanship, and schedule performance.
