- Senior Superintendent: $108,000–$173,000, depending on experience
- Superintendent: $100,000–$157,000, depending on experience
- Assistant Superintendent: $82,000–$131,000, depending on experience
- Sign-on Bonus: $15,000 for Senior Superintendents and Superintendents; $10,000 for Assistant Superintendents

Our client is seeking experienced Senior Superintendents, Superintendents, and Assistant Superintendents to lead mechanical construction operations throughout the Richmond, Virginia area.
These are hands‑on field leadership opportunities for professionals who understand how to plan work, lead people, coordinate multiple trades, and keep complex projects moving safely, efficiently, and profitably.
You will oversee mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal work involving new construction, change‑outs, retrofits, installations, industrial refrigeration, special projects, and manufacturing environments. You will work directly with mechanics, apprentices, helpers, project managers, customers, subcontractors, and other field leaders.
Qualified candidates who live outside the Richmond area may be eligible for relocation assistance.
What You Will Do
- Lead daily field operations for mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal projects
- Supervise and coordinate mechanics, apprentices, helpers, and other trade personnel
- Oversee change‑outs, retrofits, installations, and complex construction activities
- Inspect work in progress and completed work for quality and compliance with specifications
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, job orders, and shop drawings
- Review and release shop drawings to support timely installation
- Coordinate manpower, tools, equipment, materials, and project resources
- Monitor inventory and ensure crews have the materials needed to maintain productivity
- Teach, coach, and develop team members while reinforcing safety and quality expectations
- Communicate with project managers, customers, general contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and internal departments
- Help address personnel issues professionally and effectively
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and help manage project budgets
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with contractual requirements, schedules, budgets, and applicable codes
- Use technology and project-management systems to document progress and communicate project information
What We Are Looking For
- Five or more years of mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, or sheet metal construction experience
- Previous field supervisory or superintendent experience
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems, mechanical construction, and installation practices
- Working knowledge of International Codes and OSHA safety requirements
- OSHA 30‑hour certification is preferred
- Experience reading blueprints, specifications, drawings, and shop drawings
- Experience coordinating manpower, tools, materials, equipment, and inventory
- Ability to coach and lead field personnel while maintaining safety and productivity
- Experience handling personnel issues and communicating with multiple project stakeholders
- Strong mechanical, administrative, organizational, and analytical skills
- Proficiency with computers, tablets, smartphones, Microsoft Teams, Procore, BIM, or similar construction technology
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred but not required
