Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent to lead on-site coordination, supervision, and execution of all mechanical scopes. The role ensures safety, schedule, and budget compliance, directing crews and subcontractors while partnering with project management for successful delivery.

The candidate will read drawings, manage material deliveries, and enforce codes and standards in a safety-sensitive environment. Prior experience in piping, HVAC, or process systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of mechanical construction experience, with at least three years in a supervisory role.
• Experience across piping, HVAC, plumbing, and/or process/industrial systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Knowledge of building/mechanical codes.
• Proficiency with scheduling tools and field/project management software.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification is required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Direct and oversee daily mechanical field operations, including self-perform crews and mechanical subcontractors.
• Coordinate sequencing and installation of mechanical systems with other trades to maintain workflow and schedule.

Job Description

The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for the on-site coordination, supervision, and execution of all mechanical scopes of work. This role ensures that all mechanical work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with contract documents, quality standards, and applicable codes. The Mechanical Superintendent serves as a key field leader, directing crews and subcontractors while partnering closely with project management to drive successful project delivery. This position is classified as “safety-sensitive.”

Skills and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade certification or associate degree preferred.
• Seven or more years of mechanical construction experience, with at least three years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience across mechanical disciplines (piping, HVAC, plumbing, and/or process/industrial systems).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, installation methods, and applicable building/mechanical codes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Proficiency with scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and field/project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of OSHA standards and construction safety practices.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
