Job summary

InTest Corporation in Mount Laurel, NJ seeks a Mechanical Staff Engineer to design test head positioners and docking hardware, working across engineering to deliver customer-focused solutions. This role involves concept through production release, with interaction from sales and operations to meet timelines and specifications.

The candidate should have a BS in mechanical engineering, 5+ years of related experience, SolidWorks proficiency, and ERP/DMS familiarity.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline; required.
Minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience; required.
SolidWorks or related 3D design experience; required.
Microsoft Office Suite; required.
ERP experience; preferred.
Document management system experience; preferred.
Occasional travel (less than 10%); required.

Responsibilities

Designs industrial equipment and positioning systems from concept to production release.
Interprets and maintains technical drawings, manuals, and installation procedures.
Collaborates with customers, sales and marketing to capture product requirements.
Develops prototypes and production samples meeting customer specs.
Monitors manufacturing methods, suppliers, and fabrication issues.
Leads technicians/CAD designers on design tasks.
Diagnoses equipment failures and recommends fixes.
Performs related duties as assigned.
