Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Mechanical Sourcing Engineer in Elyria, OH to influence material sourcing for new product development. You will work with commodity management, engineers, and suppliers to optimize design for manufacturability and ensure quality standards.

The role requires collaboration across global teams and periodic travel. You should have a mechanical engineering degree and at least 3 years of experience, plus knowledge of PPAP/DFM/FMEA and strong project-management skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical sourcing or related field.
• Knowledge of PPAP, SPC, DFM, FMEA quality processes.
• Strong communication and ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel 15–20% as required for program needs.

Responsibilities

• Drive NPD projects: RFQ creation, supplier selection, costed BOM ownership, PPAP, risk mitigation.
• Manage sourcing projects with global supply base; cost modeling, make/buy analysis, capex.
• Communicate supply chain status and risks to project stakeholders.
• Lead supplier decision reviews with executive leadership.
