Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Commodity Manager in Elyria, OH to lead commodity strategies across multiple sites. You will work with internal teams and suppliers to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and performance.

The role requires 5+ years in procurement or related fields, strong data and ERP tool experience, and ability to travel up to 20%. A Bachelor's degree is required and sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or related field in multi-site/global environment.
• Tech savvy with Word, Excel, PowerPoint; experience with JDE/SAP/QlikView, Portal, Insight, IBEE, Team Center.
• Knowledge of purchasing systems and principles incl. low-cost country sourcing, auctions, VA/VE, and leveraging tools.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sourcing/commodity strategies.
• Experience analyzing data, market trends, supplier performance to guide decisions.
• Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Familiarity with procurement analytics or ERP digital tools.
• Ability to negotiate and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Overnight travel 10-20% year depending on needs.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commodity and supplier strategies across locations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement cost optimization initiatives.
• Identify and develop diverse sources of supply in domestic and global markets.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiations, and contract development.
• Analyze market trends, cost drivers, and supply risks; inform decisions.
• Guide supplier performance management and continuous improvement.
• Manage commodity data, spend analytics, and performance metrics.
• Support new product development with engineering, operations, and supply chain.
• Facilitate sourcing events like bidding and reverse auctions when appropriate.
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives for resilience and efficiency.
