Hy-Tek is hiring a Mechanical Installation Field Supervisor. This person is responsible for overseeing other mechanical installers in the field. The location of this role can be based anywhere throughout the United States, with the capability to travel to customer sites. This is a 100% travel role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for leading and managing crews that consist of lead persons/crew leaders, journeymen, apprentices, and/or helpers.
- Ability to lead approximately 12- 40 individuals and contractors.
- Ability to lay out project work and ensure that materials, took and equipment are scheduled in a timely manner to meet the scope, budget, and project construction schedules.
- Accountable for the on-site supervision of assigned installers in such a way as to ensure scheduled completion of projects within established budget, time frame, quality, and performance standards.
- Responsible for reviewing project documents, plans and specifications, directing installation activities, resolving construction difficulties, coordinating field installations, project close-outs, and developing and/or maintaining customer/client relationships.
- All responsibilities to be accomplished within standard operating procedures, project costs, time constraints, and quality standards.
- Performs annual performance evaluations of assigned personnel as directed.
- Accountable for leadership, management, and supervision of project.
- Responsible for safe installations, alterations, additions, and/or repairs of mechanical systems, associated materials, and equipment within the material handling industry.
- Assist with routine equipment trial runs to ensure that it meets standards and specifications.
- Ability to assist with training of subcontractors in the installation of Hy-Tek and other material handling equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:- Material handling experience is preferred.
- OSHA training or certificate preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment.
- Experience servicing AGVS, AS/RS or conveyors is preferred.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to write clear, concisely, and complete trip reports in the time frame required according to Hy-Tek procedures.
- Knowledge in the use of personal computers, data base functions and communications.
- Understanding personal computer hardware setup and software configuration required.
- Journeyman's license where required.
Working Conditions:- This is a 100% traveling position.
- Some weekend/night work required as needed.
- Standing and walking for long periods of time.
- Occasional climbing on steps, scaffolding and/or mezzanines.
- Sitting in and/or driving a vehicle for a long period of time.
- Working with computers for a long period of time.
- Working in office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
- Possible exposure to noise levels exceeding recommended DBA levels.
