The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferable technical certifications and supervisory experience in vehicle maintenance. Valid driver’s license and strong customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Technical degree or related certificates are a plus.
• Proven supervisory experience in vehicle maintenance preferred.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills are essential.
• Proficient computer literacy with maintenance or tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee repair and overhaul of mechanical components in railway maintenance.
• Supervise work crews; ensure safety and adherence to standards.
• Inspect activities; maintain schedules and budgets where applicable.
• Order, schedule, and expedite materials, parts, and tools.
• Document maintenance records using manual or computerized systems.
• Drive MBTA vehicles to sites and respond to emergencies as needed.
