Job summary

Eurofins USA Food Testing in Houston is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop engineering controls that reduce hazards across our laboratory network. You will design, validate, and deploy solutions that improve safety while preserving process quality and throughput, collaborating with operations, maintenance, quality, and EHS teams.

This role emphasizes prototyping, field testing, and scaled deployment across labs, with responsibilities from concept to start-up, and ongoing optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience involving equipment design, product development, manufacturing systems, process improvement, automation, or related fields.
• Experience working with fabrication vendors, machine shops, equipment suppliers, or maintenance organizations.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engineering controls that eliminate or reduce workplace hazards.
• Apply mechanical engineering principles to improve safety, ergonomics, material handling, and equipment operation.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions; lead projects from concept through implementation.
• Support installation, startup, and deployment activities.
• Create implementation guides, engineering standards, and best practices.
