Job summary

Amarillo Gear Company LLC is seeking a skilled assembler to build gearboxes and related components. You will read blueprints, use precision tools, and follow engineering specifications to ensure the highest quality.

The role requires lifting, standing, and operating overhead crane and forklift in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Applicants should have 3–5 years of mechanical assembly experience (gearbox preferred) and a strong focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of mechanical assembly experience, gearbox preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, drawings, specifications and bills of materials.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools and basic hand tools.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble gearboxes and component parts per engineering specifications.
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure product meets standards and document defects.
  • Rework and repair assembled equipment per engineering specifications.
  • Operate overhead crane and forklift as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area following 5S practices.

We’re committed to making a positive impact on the world, providing you with diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone’s empowered to be their best.SCOPE: Assemble gearboxes and component parts for refurbishment and assembly.SPECIAL SKILLS/ Requirements:• Operate overhead crane and forklift.• Use hand held power, hand held precision measuring and manual tools.• Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications,bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemblegearboxes/products. Good written and oral communication skills.• Working knowledge of mechanical components/assemblies to suggest improvements.• Ability to work accurately and thoroughly in a timely manner, while maintaining safety asa priority.• Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to producea new concept or idea.• Ability to lift and/or push 25 pounds, stand, bend, and squat with repetitive movements for 8hours.• High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.• Work overtime on an as needed basis.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED. 3-5 years of mechanicalassembly experience, gearbox preferred.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Work in a team environment to accomplish goals.• Utilize hand held precision measuring tools such as micrometers and depth mics.• Perform quality work inspections to ensure the product meets quality standards.• Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects areidentified.• Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineeringspecification.• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.• Maintain a clean and safe work area per 5S practices.Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.We are an equal opportunity employer, and all applicants will be considered for employment without attention to their membership in any protected class.
