SCOPE: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of machinery upkeep within a facility, including planning, executing, and communicating preventive maintenance schedules, managing repairs, supervising a team of maintenance technicians, and ensuring equipment operates at peak efficiency to minimize downtime, all while adhering to safety regulations and budget constraints. Additionally, they are responsible for scheduling facility and property maintenance with outside vendors and maintaining department metrics.

Education Requirements/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required). A technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance role, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory position.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and understanding of various industrial machinery and systems

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily maintenance activities, ensuring that all machines, equipment, and systems are functioning efficiently and safely.
  • Design and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance plans to identify potential issues before major breakdowns occur, including scheduling routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication and coolant procedures.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions, coordinate necessary repairs, and oversee the timely completion of corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other system issues as they arise, using outside contractor help, as necessary.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for maintenance activities.
  • Track maintenance costs, manage spare parts inventory, and work within allocated budget to optimize maintenance spend.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and report on monthly metrics.
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors for equipment repairs, maintenance contracts, and parts procurement.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repair logs, inspection reports, and work orders.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize maintenance processes, implement new technologies, and enhance equipment reliability.
  • Coordinate and install new equipment and the removal of existing equipment, as required.
  • Maintain power consumption data for all equipment and keep our Arc flash safety program updated annually.
  • Review maintenance personnel skill set annually and suggest additional training needs as needed by the company and to foster professional growth.
  • Aid in selection and installation of new/replacement equipment.
  • Take part in risk assessments for the department and the company wide management review process.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Required Physical Demands

  • Standing for more than 1 hour, walking more than 100 ft., reach above, at or below shoulders, climb stairs, bend, stoop, and/or squat, grasping, hand/wrist twisting, lifting of up to 50 lbs.
