Job summary

IREN is seeking a Construction Technician QA/QC - Mechanical in Sweetwater, TX to lead quality inspections of advanced mechanical systems, especially liquid cooling, within data center projects. You will verify installations meet drawings and standards, document results, and collaborate with construction, engineering, and commissioning teams on corrective actions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical QA/QC or mechanical inspection in industrial construction, including at least 2 years with liquid cooling systems in data centers or similar high-tech environments.
• ASQ CQI, AWS CWI, or NDT Level I/II certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with liquid cooling technologies, heat transfer principles, and data center infrastructure.
• Knowledge of testing equipment such as pressure gauges, flow meters, and thermal imaging tools.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.
