Job summary

Flowserve Corporation in Pasadena, CA, seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to manage end-to-end pump overhaul, repair, and engineering modification projects for critical rotating equipment.

You will evaluate pump designs, perform RCFA, develop repair BOMs, and coordinate with customers, project managers, and shop staff to ensure on-time delivery and high reliability. A BS in mechanical engineering and 2+ years of pump experience are required, with CAD and SAP proficiency highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years in project engineering, field service, or repair engineering for industrial pumps and rotating equipment.
  • Strong understanding of centrifugal pump components, seals, materials, and failure mechanisms.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate pump designs, operating conditions, and site specs to determine scope of work.
  • Conduct RCFA and diagnostic assessments on disassembled centrifugal pumps and rotating assemblies.
  • Develop detailed repair and overhaul execution plans, work instructions, and BOMs.
  • Generate and submit material and part requisitions for timely procurement of components.
  • Assign, schedule, and track work orders across the machine and assembly shop as required.
  • Interface with customers, project managers, and shop supervisors to provide technical updates and resolve engineering discrepancies.
  • Inspect completed repairs and overhauls to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
