Job summary

Atlantic Constructors Mechanical Project Manager oversees all aspects of planning and delivering mechanical and HVAC/sheet metal operations for commercial construction projects, including air distribution, ductwork fabrication and installation, equipment installation, and coordination with subcontractors and vendors.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings for constructability, maintaining project schedules and budgets, and ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery while coordinating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3+ years of project management experience on commercial mechanical/HVAC projects.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems, codes, air distribution, fabrication and installation practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction project management software/systems.
• Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal project teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Coordinate with pre-construction, sales, safety, estimating, CAD/BIM, and fabrication shops and client personnel.
• Develop and maintain mechanical project schedules and major equipment delivery timelines.
• Review and approve mechanical equipment submittals (AHUs, RTUs, chillers, boilers, pumps, VAV boxes, VRF systems).
• Scope vendor quotes and procure mechanical materials; ensure timely procurement for projects.
• Prepare and issue subcontracts for mechanical, HVAC, and sheet metal trades.
• Provide guidance to fabrication teams on duct fabrication schedules and components.
• Monitor field progress, manage budgets, and report performance to leadership.
• Identify scope changes and prepare/prioritize change orders with customers.
• Develop recovery plans for schedule, quality, or productivity challenges.
• Support on-site quality control, safety procedures, and inspection readiness.
