Job summary

Jim Myers & Sons, Inc. (JMS) in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Project Manager to lead the successful execution of complex projects from handoff through commissioning and closeout.

The role requires strong leadership, scheduling discipline, and a focus on margin protection across Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Vendors, Field Service, Finance, and Customers. You will own the full lifecycle, develop and manage schedules, monitor costs and forecast EAC, and communicate risks and milestones to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in manufacturing, engineered equipment, construction, or related industries.

Responsibilities

• Own the full project lifecycle including kickoff, scheduling, execution, shipment, commissioning, and project closeout.
• Lead project execution activities aligned with JMS milestones and business unit objectives; maintain schedules and priorities.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Field Service, Vendors, and Customers.
• Monitor project financial performance including forecasting, costs, EAC, and margin protection.
• Manage project scope and coordinate change orders prior to cost-impacting work.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks related to schedule, costs, procurement, and commitments.
• Coordinate vendor activities and long-lead procurement to support execution schedules.
• Maintain visibility into fabrication progress, shipment schedules, and commissioning readiness.
• Provide clear communication with customers, vendors, internal teams, and leadership on status and action items.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, forecasts, milestone tracking, and execution records.
