Medix Staffing Solutions, Inc. seeks a senior mechanical engineer contractor to drive the design of high-reliability automated machinery and systems, and to establish robust project-management standards that help scope, sequence, and break down large NPD initiatives into clear milestones.

You will oversee full lifecycle engineering from concept through production release and collaborate with electrical, firmware, controls, and quality teams to ensure successful integration.

Qualificações

• 15+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering product design experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME/MSME) or a related field strongly preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP).

Responsabilidades

This contract role blends senior mechanical engineering design with structured project management. The primary focus is to finalize complex automated machinery designs while establishing practical project management standards—helping the team effectively scope, sequence, and break down large New Product Development (NPD) initiatives into clear, manageable milestones.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Engineering & Design: Lead the design and engineering of high-reliability automated machinery, tooling, and electro-mechanical systems. Manage full-lifecycle NPD from concept and 3D modeling through prototyping, testing, DFM/DFA, and production release. Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stack-ups, and root-cause failure analyses.
• Project Delivery & Management: Oversee development timelines, budgets, scopes, and risk registries. Break down complex machine builds into trackable engineering sprints, resolve bottlenecks, and manage vendor relationships and component sourcing.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with electrical, firmware, controls, and quality teams to ensure seamless hardware/software integration.
• Mentorship & Process Improvement: Upskill engineering staff on modern project workflows, milestone tracking, documentation standards, and phase-gate reviews.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 15+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering product design experience, with a track record of taking complex electro-mechanical programs from concept to production.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME/MSME) or a related field strongly preferred.
• Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Technical Tools: Proficiency in 3D CAD platforms (SolidWorks, Creo, or Inventor), PDM/PLM systems, and project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Asana, Monday.com).
