Job summary

IMI Industrial Services Group is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager local to Alpharetta, GA for a full-time role. You will oversee project direction, safety, budgeting, staffing, and customer relations to ensure on-time completion and quality.

The position requires a technical degree or 3–5 years of PM experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage multiple projects with demanding timelines. Travel up to a small percentage may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 3-5 years of project management experience.
• Minimum of three years’ work experience in a project management capacity.
• Proven experience in people management and a commitment to industrial safety.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Computer experience, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Project, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operation of all projects by following and enforcing safety policies.
• Estimate the value of work using IMI standard processes and tools.
• Lead planning and implementation with clear project scope, goals and deliverables.
• Develop full-scale project plans with timelines and milestones.
• Assemble and coordinate project staff and resources.
• Develop and manage project budgets and cost controls.
• Interview, hire, mentor, and train staff; conduct performance appraisals.
• Provide direction and support to the project team.
• Monitor progress and report to stakeholders with issues and solutions.
• Implement changes to achieve project outputs and manage interventions.
• Close projects with a formal review and validate quality and scope adherence.
• Develop strategies to expand business and nurture customer relationships.

Job Summary

IMI is seeking a full-time Mechanical Project Manager local to the Alpharetta, GA area.

Essential Functions

The Industrial Project Manager will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company policy, strategy, commitments, and goals. Where necessary and applicable, coordinate and/or assist in the duties below:

• Ensure the safe operation of all projects by following and enforcing all company and customer safety policies and regulations.
• Estimate the value of work based on IMI standardized processes and tools
• Lead the planning and implementation of a project clearly articulating project scope, goals, and deliverables
• Develop full scale project plans with timelines
• Assemble and coordinate project staff
• Develop and manage a budget
• Interview and hire; develop, mentor, and train existing staff; coach and counsel existing staff to improve output; conduct performance appraisals
• Provide direction and support to project team
• Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders including problems and solutions
• Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
• Close assigned project with a managed review with customer that validates quality of work and adherence to scope of work
• Develop and implement a strategy to increase business in your designated area and cultivate positive customer relationships with existing and potential customers

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 3-5 years of experience in project management is preferred

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Stand or walk for long periods of time
• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, or manipulate objects
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance
• Manual dexterity needed for repetitive tasks and operating standard office equipment
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 5-10% of the time
