Job summary

IMI Industrial Services Group seeks a Mechanical Project Manager to manage complex industrial projects in the Norcross, GA area. You will lead planning, staffing, budgeting, and safety compliance while coordinating with customers and internal teams to deliver results.

The role emphasizes hands-on project leadership, risk management, and strong communication to ensure scope adherence and customer satisfaction in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 3-5 years of PM experience preferred.
• Minimum of three years’ work experience in a project management capacity.
• Proven experience in people management and commitment to industrial safety.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Computer experience including Microsoft Office, Excel, Project, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning, scope, goals, and deliverables for assigned projects.
• Develop and manage full-scale project plans with timelines.
• Assemble and coordinate project staff and budget.
• Hire, mentor, and coach staff; conduct performance appraisals.

Job Summary

IMI is seeking a full-time Mechanical Project Manager local to the Norcross, GA area.

Essential Functions

• Ensure the safe operation of all projects by following and enforcing all company and customer safety policies and regulations.
• Estimate the value of work based on IMI standardized processes and tools
• Lead the planning and implementation of a project clearly articulating project scope, goals, and deliverables
• Develop full scale project plans with timelines
• Assemble and coordinate project staff
• Develop and manage a budget
• Interview and hire; develop, mentor, and train existing staff; coach and counsel existing staff to improve output; conduct performance appraisals
• Provide direction and support to project team
• Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders including problems and solutions
• Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
• Close assigned project with a managed review with customer that validates quality of work and adherence to scope of work
• Develop and implement a strategy to increase business in your designated area and cultivate positive customer relationships with existing and potential customers

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 3-5 years of experience in project management is preferred

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Stand or walk for long periods of time
• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, or manipulate objects
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance
• Manual dexterity needed for repetitive tasks and operating standard office equipment
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 5-10% of the time
