Job summary

Murray Company Mechanical Contractors in Cypress/Rancho Dominguez, CA, offers a summer internship in Operations to gain hands-on project management exposure across pre-construction, fabrication, and field installation.

You will assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating mechanical projects, review designs and specs, and help with cost estimates and safety compliance. 40 hours/week for 10–12 weeks, starting May 2027.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Demonstrates initiative and works well in a team environment.
• Available to work 40 hours per week for the internship duration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating mechanical projects.
• Support reviewing designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Help manage project documentation including submittals, RFIs, changes, and reports.
• Participate in site visits to monitor progress and ensure specs compliance.
• Support cost estimates and budgeting efforts.
• Assist with quality control measures.
• Facilitate communication among project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Assist with safety protocol implementation and compliance.
