Job summary

Murray Company offers a summer internship in its Operations group, providing hands-on project management experience across pre-construction, fabrication, and field installation. You will work alongside experienced project managers and teams on mechanical projects including plumbing, HVAC, and process piping.

Current students will gain practical knowledge, mentorship, and leadership skills while supporting project planning, design reviews, and cost tracking in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university program and pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and interact effectively in a team environment.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship (typically 10 weeks).

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating mechanical projects.
• Support reviewing designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Assist with managing project documentation (submittals, RFIs, change orders, reports).
• Participate in site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Support preparation of cost estimates and budgets.
• Aid in implementing quality control measures.
• Facilitate communication among project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Assist with safety protocol implementation and compliance.
