Job summary

TRC Energy Services in Nashville, TN seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to support commercial and industrial energy programs, including energy modeling, QA/QC, on-site inspections and client meetings.

You will work hands-on with building systems and sustainability initiatives, travel within the service territory, and collaborate with engineers, contractors and clients to deliver high-quality energy efficiency projects.

Qualifications

• Engineering experience: entry level.
• Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical or Energy Engineering.
• AEE, IEEE, ASHRAE, ASME, etc certifications are a plus.
• Experience with energy modeling software a strong plus.
• Aptitude for communicating (written and oral) technical and program concepts to clients, contractors, consumers, and other interested people or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent computer skills: proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technologies.
• Valid driver's license; position entails travel.
• Legal ability to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections to verify installations align with designs.
• Draft and implement Measurement and Verification Plans, including field instrumentation and meter deployment.
• Perform energy audits for commercial customers to determine potential energy efficiency improvements.
• Conduct energy analysis and whole building modeling (simulations).
• Identify operations and maintenance energy savings opportunities in buildings.
• Deliver high-quality reports requiring minimal quality control efforts.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines and client expectations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and contractors to ensure that deliverables meet or exceed the customer's expectations.
