Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Engineer I in Wisconsin to support project coordination, document control, and field QA/QC processes. You will review plans, coordinate with staff at all levels, and ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards.

The role emphasizes mentorship of field engineers, timely submittals, and close collaboration with project teams to maintain schedule and quality across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons.
• Implement the pre-construction quality plan.
• Obtain and maintain construction permits; manage fee payments and recurring expenses.
• Develop and maintain Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report.
• Manage, create, and distribute contract documents.
• Establish handling procedures for electronic documents (RFIs, correspondence).
• Incorporate processes and procedures for project closeout phase.
• Mentor, manage, and evaluate field engineers.
• Coordinate safety and compliance for all team members.
