Job summary

Highland Consulting Group is recruiting for an experienced Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer in the Baltimore, MD area to support commercial mechanical projects including piping, plumbing, and HVAC/sheet metal systems.

The role requires at least 3 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager on large-scale commercial or industrial mechanical projects, with strong communication, budgeting, and cost-estimation skills.

Qualifications

• Solid communication skills - both verbal and written.
• Ability to establish timelines and budgets.
• Experience in cost estimation and negotiating.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to lead productive, multi-discipline meetings.
• Proven track record of project management success.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in managing and supervising all phases of assigned projects.
• Manage the submittal process; respond to or create RFIs as needed.
• Assist in negotiating change orders and maintain logs.
• Work with PM to manage the project budget and approve expenses.
• Interface with the Owner on projects; maintain records and close-out documents.
• Prepare and manage schedules; coordinate punch-list inspections with Superindendent and Owner’s Rep.
• Estimate change orders; assist in Buyout of subcontracts and equipment.
